ICCBH meetings provide an international forum for the presentation and discussion of current basic and clinical science in the field of bone metabolism and bone mass in children, adolescents and young adults. The conference will be held on 27th to 30th June 2015 in Salzburg, Austria.
The 2015 edition will be particularly interesting for achondroplasia once new treatments approaches will be presented.
Andrea Superti-Furga, from the University of Lausanne and an international expert in skeletal dysplasias; Laurence Legeai-Mallet, from INSERM (soluble FGFR3 research team is from INSERM) and Masaki Matsushita, from the meclozine team will attend the conference.
I highlight some parts of the intense 4 days of conference:
a) Recent advances in limb lengthening – John Herzenberg (Baltimore, USA)
b) Achondroplasia – new therapy- Laurence Legeai-Mallet (Paris France)
Meclozine has a potential effects on short stature and foramen magnum stenosis in transgenic mice with achondroplasia – Masaki Matsushita (Nagoya, Japan)
Transplantation of culture-expanded bone marrow cells and platelet rich plasma in lower limb lengthening for short stature patients Hiroshi Kitoh (Nagoya, Japan)
The expectations in the conference are high and I hope the bring updates on this studies.
